The making of a successful Marketing Agency
Twelve years ago, Harriet Thiong’o, our Managing Director, setup a Digital Marketing Agency in Kenya, right in her home garage in Karen. If you’ve met her, then you know that she’s a natural at it; undeniably good at what she does with a contagious passion for strategic marketing and a warm personality to match. What she didn’t know, by her own admission, was that the industry was littered with ‘briefcases’ and that there was huge demand for professional, strategic marketing services. She noticed that her clients were almost surprised by the attention to detail, quality production and of course, the tenacity.
The company quickly gained a reputation for quality, creative work with a distinctive culture of personalized services and exceptional delivery, while she gained herself a reputation of being ‘a dog with a bone’. Growth followed. Within the first two years, the agency had grown to a team of 30, was commissioned to produce about 10 regional magazines, landing contracts with organizations like the UN and had managed several local and international events that led to the launch of Harriet Group of Companies Ltd. Today, the Group specializes in Strategic Marketing, Business Value Strategy & Investment, Business Networking and publishing, with about 20 solid brands and offices in Kenya, Uganda and Dubai.
Under Harriet’s leadership, the company has now launched in Dublin, Ireland. The expansion to the European market is a solid testament of our passion for exponential growth.
